Slow-Forward

The 3-day "Slow-Forward" Workshop conducted by the @co_lexer team, took place at PUPA 6.0 from September 8-10, 2023. The workshop focuses on the idea of slowing down at the age of Anthropocene. The notion of slow design and ecologically conscious construction were incited through the design of healing spaces. In parallel with the idea of healing the workshop started with breath meditation practice led by Şengul Tuncer.

The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to engage in the creation of spatial narratives using various online artificial intelligence tools, such as Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and DALL-E. The focus was on examining the lifecycle of architecture, specifically through the lens of waste produced during construction, destruction, and reconstruction processes.

During the workshop, attendees explored the environmental impacts of architectural practices and reflected on how these impacts shape the world we live in. Additionally, the workshop offered an introduction to AI image generators in the design of architectural spaces.

A notable aspect of the workshop was the contribution of collaborating designer Burak Levent. He introduced an auditory dimension to the architectural narratives, providing insights into the integration of sound elements in architectural design, thereby enriching the participants' learning experience.
